While my title says “Everyday Makeup Routine,” I don’t actually wear makeup daily. This is my go-to routine for work days or running errands. Quick to apply and blend so it only takes me around 15-20 minutes to get ready! Honestly the longest part of my routine is applying mascara because I don’t have much lashes, so they need a little extra help. Haha.
Base
My favorite part of any makeup sesh is applying my base! While playing with eyeshadow looks is fun and creative, there’s nothing more satisfying than foundation and concealer for me. Before I apply my makeup though, I start with my skincare! If you’d like to read about my current skincare, check out my blog post all about it, which includes alternate products as well.
I don’t always use a primer, but in the last few months I’ve been using Jaclyn Cosmetics Facial Primer Oil from her holiday collection. Can’t link it because it was limited edition 🙁 Love it especially this winter!
My current foundation is a mix of my Dior Backstage Face & Body Foundation and Hourglass Foundation Stick. I swipe the foundation stick first, and then apply the Dior foundation before I blend it all together. I’m currently using two foundations to create the perfect shade because neither of them are the right shade at the moment! For this part, I use a flat-top buffing brush.
Then I apply my concealer(s). Typically I only use the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer for a little concealing and brightening, but for added coverage (on rougher days or fuller glam), I layer with the Pat McGrath Concealer. Then I set with the Pat McGrath Under-Eye Setting Powder.
I lightly dust all over with the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Powder, most of the time, but not if I’m just home.
Adding color back to my face!
For bronzer, blush, and highlight, I’ve been using the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Face Palette that came out for the limited edition holiday collection (it’s still available!). Some days I use a different blush, depending on how I’m feeling. Love this palette because it’s so glowy and smooth, without being chunky and glittery!
The same palette also has a finishing powder I like to use once I’m done with the face products, and I only use a tiny amount. Otherwise it’ll be too much, and I’ll look like a glazed donut (which sometimes I actually like!).
Eyes
For daily makeup, I usually just use any bronzer to add depth to the eyelids. When I’m feeling like I want to do something deeper, my go to is any medium brown eyeshadow. Most basic palettes always have some type of brown shade good for this!
For my brows, I alternate between the Anastasia Brow Wiz in Soft Brown and Urban Decay Brow Blade in Taupe Trap. Taupe Trap is darker than Soft Brown so it really depends on what I’m feeling that day. I will say, I use Taupe Trap more.
My favorite eyeliners: NYX pencil eyeliner for black, and Colourpop Mr. Bing Eyeliner for brown (I stocked up on this but this is already discontinued!). They’re both very creamy, so it’s easy to smudge out and make it look subtle. When I’m feeling a little bolder and have more time, I use NYX liquid eyeliner.
For mascara, I’ve been using the L’Oréal Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara for years! Honestly, since it came out. I use it in waterproof because I can’t use non-waterproof mascara with these non-existent lashes!
Lips
As low maintenance (relatively, depending who you ask. Haha.) as my everyday makeup routine is, I still use lip liner. I know, I know… but it’s such a quick addition, and it just makes such a huge difference in your face! I feel like I look more put together without looking too bold or loud (although any other time, bold and loud is definitely more me). Any nude lip liner, with a matching lipstick, will work perfectly and can fade naturally throughout the day without looking sloppy. Current favorites: Pat McGrath Labs Permagel Ultra Lip Pencil in Contour or Done Undone and L’Oreal lip liner in Matte’s It, with Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick in Pillowtalk.
If I feel like using a gloss, I reach for Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Cream in Fenty Glow. When I have to be out and in a mask, then I definitely don’t use this!
Final Touches
Setting spray! I can’t do my makeup without any setting spray. It just melts it all together, so it’s smooth and flawless. I typically use the Morphe setting spray and the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless setting spray. Morphe for the finish, but the Charlotte Tilbury for the longevity. And we’re done! At this point, Patryk knows I actually am ready to go…😜
There ya have it for my everyday makeup routine for a simple look for work or running errands. Sometimes I just want to feel a little put together for zoom meetings at home, or if I just need a pick-me-up on a rough morning. Makeup application is truly one of my feel-better activities, it’s therapeutic for me. If I just had to pick one of these products that I need no matter what, it’d have to be mascara. They just make me look awake, and that’s mostly why I need makeup most days at work… What’s one makeup product that you can’t live without?!

I just ordered the L’Oreal mascara a few days ago, I’m so excited to try it! Also I have dark circles and spots I always want to cover so concealer is a must for me. Great post!
